These Ōuchi Hina dolls form a meaningful pair, traditionally associated with harmony, good fortune and togetherness. This makes them a beautiful symbolic gift, for example for a wedding couple, a new beginning or as a quiet sign of connection. The dolls come from Yamaguchi, Japan, and are connected to Ōuchi-nuri, the local lacquerware craft known for its deep gloss, rounded forms and refined decorative finish.

The dolls have a generous rounded shape and a warm lacquered appearance. Their gentle faces, small mouths and decorative painted details give the pair a friendly and festive presence. With their larger size of approx. 10 cm, this set feels stronger and more pronounced than the smaller Ōuchi pairs.

This set comes from Ōuchi-nuri Kōgeisha / Ouchi Lacquerware Craft Company and is described as a special selection. The original shiori mentions 山口県特産 大内人形, Ōuchi dolls as a specialty of Yamaguchi Prefecture, and refers to Okada 忠亮 with the artist / craft name 珍貝. As the exact romanisation of these names is uncertain, the Japanese writing is kept here.

The set also includes an additional card with atelier information. It mentions the long activity of the workshop, selections for national lacquerware exhibitions and several recognitions for craftsmanship, including an award in 1975. It also refers to works that were presented through the prefecture to members of the Imperial Family in 1963, on the occasion of the Yamaguchi National Sports Festival. Together with the paulownia wood box and original shiori, this makes the set especially complete and collectible.
