This vintage set consists of two large traditional Naruko Kokeshi, created by Matsuda Tadao (松田忠雄).
The two Kokeshi form a harmonious pair featuring the same floral design in different colours. One is decorated in vivid red and green, while the other has a more understated black and grey design. Large chrysanthemum motifs and fine horizontal lines allow the natural colour of the wood to remain beautifully visible.
Both Kokeshi are signed 忠雄, Tadao, on the underside. The inscription surrounding the signature also refers to Naruko Kokeshi, confirming both the maker and the traditional style.
Each Kokeshi comes with its own box and accompanying information leaflet. Their generous size gives the pair a striking yet calm presence.
A highly decorative duo combining traditional Japanese woodturning with the recognisable visual language of Naruko Kokeshi.
