An impressive large Naruko Kokeshi by Takahashi Musashi (高橋武士).
Musashi (1888–1969) is recognised as one of the key Naruko masters of the 20th century.
Classic chrysanthemum decoration in red and green.
On the base: a long calligraphy inscription dated Shōwa 44 → 6 August 1969.
This is most likely the date of gifting — created at the very end of Musashi's lifetime (he passed away at the end of August 1969).
A late-period historical piece.
This scale (46 cm) and the dated dedication from his final year make this a true collector's piece, a unique slice of Naruko history in one object. We are proud to offer this piece in our collection.
