A beautiful transitional Kokeshi by Kawamura Shōji (川村正治) – a maker classified in literature as part of the Kokeshi transitionelles, bridging traditional Miyagi/Sendai styles and the later creative movement.

This piece dates from the mid-1980s, the label shows 1984–1985, confirming the period of production.

Warm wood tones, elegant brushwork and a calm facial expression give this piece a serene, timeless presence. The underside carries both handwritten signature and atelier stamp, marking authenticity.
