celebrated in the Sōsaku and Shingata movement for his clean silhouettes and bold floral motifs.
His work blends tradition and creativity, often featuring stripes and flower decorations in warm tones.
In 1989, he received the Prime Minister's Prize,
recognizing his outstanding craftsmanship and artistic innovation.
