What exactly does Tamashii sell?

Tamashii is a Belgian webshop specializing in authentic vintage Japanese objects.
Here you'll find Kokeshi dolls, Daruma, Furoshiki, Bizen ceramics, and other handcrafted pieces with soul and story.

Are all products unique?

Our vintage pieces – such as Kokeshi, Daruma and ceramics – are handmade and one of a kind, often signed by the artist. What you see in the photos is exactly what you will receive.

Our Furoshiki are new and not unique, but carefully selected to perfectly complement our collection.

Are the items in perfect condition?

Most of our items are vintage or pre-loved. Signs of age such as slight discoloration, small scratches or patina are part of each piece's charm. Please take a close look at the photos and descriptions – we aim to present everything as honestly as possible.

How do I know if a product is still available?

As long as a product is visible in the webshop, it is available. Once it is sold, it will either disappear automatically or be marked as 'out of stock'.

Can I have my order wrapped in a furoshiki?

Yes. At checkout, you can choose a simple gift wrap using a Tamashii furoshiki – a reusable Japanese wrapping cloth with a traditional pattern. This option turns your order into a stylish and sustainable gift.

During this first month, the Tamashii furoshiki is included for free as part of our welcome offer – a lovely extra with your purchase.

Prefer to use a different furoshiki from our collection as wrapping? Just add your chosen furoshiki to your cart and let us know at checkout which item you'd like it to wrap. We'll make sure it's beautifully presented with attention to detail.

How does payment work?

You can pay securely via Bancontact, credit card, or other payment methods offered at checkout. All payments are processed through a secure connection.

    We do our best to serve as many lovers of Japanese craftsmanship as possible – even beyond our standard shipping zones.

    When will my order be shipped?

    Orders are usually processed and shipped within 1 to 2 working days after payment has been received.

    Please note: orders placed on Friday evening, during the weekend, or on a Belgian public holiday will be processed on the next working day.
    You'll automatically receive an email with tracking details once your parcel is on its way.

    How sustainable is your shipping?

    At Tamashii, every parcel is prepared with care and respect for the planet. We use as much recycled and reusable packaging material as possible. Our shipping is compact and thoughtful, so that no space is wasted and transport remains as light as possible.

    Our packing chips are biodegradable and compostable. The bubble wrap we use is made from recycled plastic. We avoid unnecessary packaging and plastic, unless it is being reused..

    Sustainable, aesthetic, and simple – in harmony with the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy.

    Can I return my order?

    Yes. You have 14 calendar days to change your mind after receiving your order.
    The item must be returned in good condition and properly packaged. Return shipping costs are at your own expense.
